Yesterday some kid,
Some kid,
Killed 26 people
In Connecticut.

I think of the damage
That our Technologized,
Materialistic,
New Atheist society
Has done to these souls.

These Loners...

How they explode on to the rest of us.

I am a Loner.

You cannot reduce people like us
To the plush-but-caged animal existence
You plan for the great masses
In the labyrinth of
The Internet,
Popular culture
Or social media.

We are not going to settle
For those prisons of comfort.

We are spirits,
That are entangled
In that struggle
Between Light and dark.

What was that from that play?...
A Man For All Seasons?...
God made the animals for their simplicity,
But Man He made to live in
The tangle of His Mind.

These Souls -
A Soul like mine -
Struggle with this Light and dark.
It doesn't have room for grey.
It must divide the greyness
Into its ultimate.
It must split all of Existence
Between Light OR dark.
One of those poles MUST win.

Without the guidance of...
The comfort,
The wisdom,
The AMMUNITION of...
Symbolism and the language
Of the Spiritual -
Yes, EVEN of the Religious,
And the Liturgical -
These Souls break
More frequently
Into the demonic side.
The dark wins out.

Lucifer was
God's most favoured Angel.
